CityFibre begins work on future-proofing Hartlepool’s digital foundations with 21 million all-fibre investment Work to bring all-fibre connectivity within reach of almost every home and business in Hartlepool begins today as CityFibre, the largest independent, operator-neutral all-glass platform in Great Britain, is laying the foundation for a new infrastructure expansion that will future-proof the digital needs of cities for generations to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Construction of the 21m city-wide all-fibre network has begun in Hartlepool and will be supplied by the Granemore Group on behalf of CityFibre. The team will use a range of construction methodologies, working in close partnership with Hartlepool Borough Council and local communities to enable rapid roll-out while managing potential disruptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each area will typically take a few weeks to complete, however construction teams are typically only two to three days outside each home and CityFibre will be in touch with you via email before work begins. The overall project is expected to be completed by 2025, but the first services will go live much earlier for people to use. As the network is completed in each neighborhood, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) will be lighting them up with some of the fastest and cheapest broadband packages in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The network is not yet operational, but once activated, services from a growing number of broadband providers will be available. Across the UK, CityFibre is already working with launch partner Vodafone to provide a full fibre infrastructure for customers on select Vodafone Pro Broadband plans, as well as other partners expected to join the network soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
