Harrow Council partners with Community fibre to launch London’s largest and fastest 100% full fibre broadband across the borough. Deployment of the new network begins with council housing in Harrow as part of a bespoke installation that will provide thousands of residents, businesses and communities with London’s largest and fastest broadband at the best price on the market. Unlike most providers, Community fibre builds, operates and owns its dedicated 100% full fibre network using the most advanced technology available. As such, it does not rely on cables from BT Openreach’s or any other supplier to deliver fast and reliable 100% full fibre broadband direct to individual properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Installation work has already begun on Northolt Road in South Harrow and will continue to Osmond Close where residents can take advantage of full fibre-optic broadband at the most affordable cost. Over the next two years, Community fibre will continue to roll out its fibre broadband in partnership with Harrow Council to deliver its network to thousands of properties across the county. As part of the investment, Community fibre will also provide complimentary 1,000Mbps 100% full fibre broadband connectivity to the Grange Farm Community Centre and the Northolt Road Community Centre. The free, high-quality connection offers visitors the opportunity to seamlessly participate in work and leisure activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The construction follows Community fibres’ announcement that it is on track to double its network target in London, reaching 2.2 million homes and businesses by the end of 2024. As the broadband provider accelerates in the capital, the ISP will aim to serve more than half of the city’s 3.7 million homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once work is complete, thousands of Harrow residents will be able to sign up for faster internet speeds, offered at different price packages depending on the provider. This includes wired speeds of up to 3,000Mbps (400-650Mbps over WiFi when using a WiFi 6 router), which is up to 59x faster than the average UK download speed and 306x faster than the average UK upload speed. It also offers 100% full fibre optic connectivity for businesses with broadband packet speeds of up to 10Gbps.
