Freedom Fibre has announced plans to extend its high-speed broadband network to 10 towns and villages in Cheshire. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new roll-outs will connect to Northwich, Comberbach and Hartford, as well as villages and rural communities near Pickmere, Wincham, Lostock Gralam, Davenham, Moulton, Barnton, and Great Budworth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Builds will start in the coming weeks, and the Freedom Fibre community connectivity teams are confident that the connections will go live as early as Autumn this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
David Hough, the Network Operations Director at Freedom Fibre said, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Reliable, fast, and economical broadband has quickly become a necessity for everybody. As we have moved into a digitally connected world, broadband is now considered an essential utility service. Freedom Fibre is deploying a full fibre network in Cheshire that will futureproof connectivity for our customers, using the latest technology to ensure that we can provide the service residents and businesses require in the 21st century.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Freedom Fibre is expected to announce more roll-outs in the coming month. The Manchester-based independent service providers deliver high-speed, full fibre internet to around 20,000 local homes and businesses. It’s aiming to increase that figure to 70,000 by the end of 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The long-term goal is to connect two-million properties to Freedom Fibre’s network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier this year, the firm secured an additional \u00a3100 million scale-up funding from several major investors, including Santander.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Freedom Fibre startup was founded by telecom network entrepreneur Neil McArthur, who pioneered broadband and fibre networks in the UK and helped form TalkTalk in 2002.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
