CityFibre, the UK’s largest independent full fiber platform, lays the foundation for a new infrastructure to meet the digital needs of making the city future-proof for generations to come. Construction of the 30m district wide full fiber network in the Peasley Cross area has begun and will be supplied by OConnor Utilities Ltd on behalf of CityFibre. The team will use a range of construction methodologies, working in close partnership with St Helens Borough Council and local communities to facilitate rollout while minimizing potential disruption. Each area typically takes a few weeks to complete, but construction crews are typically only two to three days outside each home, trying to limit disruption. The overall project is expected to be completed by 2025, with the first services bringing digital benefits going live much sooner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the network is completed in each neighbourhood, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) will be lighting them up with some of the fastest and cheapest broadband packages in the country. A growing number of broadband providers are offering services in St Helens. Across the UK, CityFibre is already working with launch partner Vodafone to provide a full fibre infrastructure for customers on select Vodafone Pro Broadband plans, as well as TalkTalk and Zen, with more partners expected to join the network soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
